Officer Terry Erdman, retired is a law enforcement consultant with over 29 years of service as a police officer with the St. Paul Police Department. Terry’s most recent assignment was with the SPPD Training Unit in the capacity of a Firearms/Range Instructor. He has been a training officer for over 15 years instructing police officers of all ranks and experience levels and citizen groups as well.
Terry has over two decades of experience as a Field Training Officer and Recruit Academy Instructor. He developed and implemented the SPPD emergency vehicle operations program. Terry has served as the lead instructor and department coordinator for the SPPD Taser program and as the lead instructor for the FTO program. Terry is certified as a use of force instructor, being called upon to speak as an expert on behalf of officers in controversial use of force incidents. Terry supervised, led, and scheduled the SPPD 2011-1 Academy of 25 participants.
Terry has brought his wealth of knowledge and experience to Rasmussen College, where he is currently an adjunct instructor for the law enforcement program and to Dakota County Technical College working with officers from around the state in pursuit and emergency driving.
